The global fintech operates as a Principal Member of Mastercard and Visa in Mexico and Brazil, continuing its mission to support businesses in growing both locally and globally
Press release: 30th September 2025 – Unlimit, the global fintech company, has secured Principal Membership with Mastercard and Visa in Peru, enabling it to operate as a direct acquirer for card payments processing in the country. This new accreditation marks another step in the expansion across Latin America, where it already operates as a direct acquirer in Brazil and Mexico.
With its Principal Membership with Visa and Mastercard in Peru, Unlimit strengthens its position in the region by offering a complete payment infrastructure for local businesses. The membership also enables merchants worldwide to access the Peruvian market through its global payments network - reinforcing its mission to remove financial borders and help businesses scale both domestically and internationally.
“This next phase of our expansion in Latin America marks an exciting step forward. By securing Principal Membership with Mastercard and Visa in Peru, we’re empowering local businesses to grow in their home market – while seamlessly connecting them to Unlimit’s global payment infrastructure. With access to over 1,000 payment methods worldwide, and the backing of our expert international team, we’re enabling Peruvian merchants to connect, scale, and succeed across borders.” Kirill Eves, CEO and founder of Unlimit.
The licence enables Unlimit to process payments with Visa and Mastercard, supporting solutions such as subscriptions, instalments, and one-click payments for Peru’s e-commerce market. In addition, the company already offers alternative payment methods in the country, including cash-based payments such as Pago Efectivo.
Unlimit’s expansion in Peru comes at a time of significant growth for the country’s e-commerce market, which is expected to see a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17% between 2024 and 2027. In 2024, Peru’s e-commerce market reached USD 37 billion and is projected to rise to USD 59.5 billion by 2027, according to the E-Commerce Data Library by PCMI.
In the country, debit and credit cards represent 49% and 24% of all e-commerce transactions, respectively. Digital wallets follow, accounting for 10% of transactions in 2024, according to the same PCMI study.
